Andrew C. Beal

Funeral Director

Andrew C. Beal has been providing funeral services to families with his father since 2006. Andy, the only child of Brad and Gail Beal, grew up in New Glarus and graduated from New Glarus High School in 1993. He then went on to attend and graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1997 with a degree in Biochemistry. While at the university Andy was a member of the University of Wisconsin Marching Band playing in the tuba section. Following his graduation Andy worked at the University of Wisconsin Department of Agronomy breeding forage and turf grasses for several years. During and following his time at the university Andy worked on earning a teaching license from Edgewood College in Madison to teach science and chemistry. Andy joined the McFarland Fire Department in 1999 which kindled a devotion to community service and the volunteer fire service that continues through today as a member of the New Glarus Fire Department. In 2006 at a crossroads in his career path Andy made the decision to join his father in the funeral service. He attended the Milwaukee Area Technical College Funeral Service Program in 2007 following his funeral director apprenticeship. Andy became a licensed funeral director in 2008. In June of 2008 Andy married Katie Kittleson of Stoughton, the couple then moved to New Glarus from McFarland. Andy became a member of the New Glarus Fire Department in 2006 and served the community until retiring from the fire department in 2024. He had also served as a part-time fire instructor for Madison College (MATC) and a substitute teacher in the New Glarus School District. Andy and Katie Beal and their children Alex and Ethan live in New Glarus.

Bradley L. Beal

Funeral Director

Bradley L. Beal has provided funeral services to families in the Belleville and New Glarus Wisconsin area for over forty years. He grew up in rural Evansville, WI and graduated from Evansville High School in 1964. Brad attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville before completing his Mortuary Science degree at the Wisconsin Institute of Mortuary Science, Milwaukee, WI in 1968. As part of his training in funeral service he interned at the Hansen Funeral Home in Marshfield, WI. During this time as an apprentice he met and married his wife the former Gail Mess. Brad and Gail came to New Glarus in 1968. Brad and Gail have one son Andrew who has now joined Brad in funeral service. In 1976 Brad purchased the Becker Funeral Home in Belleville creating the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, and in 1979 he purchased the Zentner Funeral Home in New Glarus creating the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home. As a tradition of funeral service and tribute to the former owners Claude Becker and Faye Zentner their names are still used. Brad has been involved in the New Glarus community; he has served on the New Glarus Fire Department for over thirty-five years, a past master of the New Glarus Masonic Lodge #310, past-president of the New Glarus Historical Society, and member of the Swiss Center of North America board of Directors. In addition Brad previously served on the Region V NDMS DMORT team and was a founding member of the Department of Homeland Security.
