Mr. William David Kummer age 84, of New Glarus, WI passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Madison. He was born February 19, 1937 in Exeter Township, Green County, the son of Jacob and Martha (Hess) Kummer. William attended Green county rural schools and graduated from Monroe High School. He was very active in the Monroe Turn und Schwing. On April 25, 1965 he was united in marriage to Ellen Kay Johnson at the Apple Grove Lutheran Church rural Argyle. Bill purchased the farm at New Glarus in January of 1965. Bill and Kay were recently honored as the oldest active dairy couple in Green County.

Bill is survived by his wife Ellen Kay, sons William J. "Bill"(Jan) Kummer, David (Katrina) Kummer, Paul Kummer, Tim (Wendy) Kummer, and his " adopted son" Dennis (Tayna) Burtness, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother, and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus is assisting the family.

A memorial fund will be established in his memory.
