William Donovan Butts, age 85, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Skaalen Nursing Home in Stoughton.  Bill was born on September 29, 1938 in Belleville, the son of Archie and Madaline (Ryan) Butts.  He graduated from Belleville High School in 1957.  Bill served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1967.  On August 1, 1964 he was united in marriage to Leatrice Hefty at the Little Brown Church in Iowa.  Bill has been retired for over 20 years.

Bill is survived by his daughter Karen (Rob) Lasure of Stoughton, three grandsons Tyler (Megan) of Madison, Mitchell (Karen) of Waterloo, and Nicholas (Shannon) of Onalaska.  He was also blessed with five great-grandsons Oliver, Teddy, Landon, Colson, and Braxton.  He is further survived by a brother Jerry (Mary) of Belleville, three brothers-in-law Bob (Sandy), Norm (Rita), and Dwayne, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Leatrice in 2009, brother and sister-in-law Jack and Laurel Butts, and sister-in-law Donna Hefty.

Private family services will be held.  Burial with military honors will be in the Belleville Cemetery.

The Becker-Beal Funeral Home of Belleville is assisting the family.
