William A. Smith, age 75, of rural Monticello passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at his home. He was born on September 30, 1927 at Madison, WI to his parents Harry and Josephine (Kniebuehler) Smith. William graduated from Madison West High School and then served in the United States Army. He worked in the construction industry for many years and also owned and operated Snuffy Smith's Gun Shop. William is survived by his son Terry Smith, daughter Tammy Fortney, granddaughter Amber Fortney, brother Daniel Smith, and nephews Eric and Brian Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncles. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Highland Memory Gardens, 3054 County Rd. BB, Madison, WI. The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus is serving the family.
