Obituary

Wallace L. "Wally" Boley, age 92 passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the New Glarus Home.  He was born on November 9, 1932 the son of Edwin and Ruth (Holcomb) Boley in Daleyville, WI.  After high school Wally entered into the United States Navy and was issued a medical discharge following basic training.  On September 10, 1955 he was united in marriage to Mary Baumgartner at the First United Church of Christ in Belleville.  Wally and Mary made Belleville their home for 68 years where they raised their two daughters.  Wally was an active member of the Belleville Community; he worked at Federal Industries in Belleville for 42 years, retiring in 1998, he also drove school bus for the Belleville School District, he served 40 years on the Belleville Fire Department, was a 50-year member of the Belleville Community Club and the Duppler-Smith American Legion Post #460.  In addition, Wally umpired slow pitch softball in Belleville and at Country Inn in Verona for many years.  He also served on the First United Church of Christ council, went on the Badger Honor Flight in 2015, and was given a Quilt of Valor in 2018.

Wally is survived by his wife Mary, daughters Debra (Bill) Rupp, Susan (Steve) Ace, seven grandchildren Renee (Kevin) Lynch, Theresa (Jay) Martinson, Erin (Pat) Nechkash, Joe (Erica) Mandt, Lyndsey (Megan) Ace, Emily (Matt) Hensel, and Riley (Rob) Ace, thirteen great-grandchildren Katlyn, Delaney, Ansley, Cartney, Kellen, Maya, Kaleb, Karleigh, Joey, Reagan, Zulema, Devon, and Ace.  He is further survived by a sister Alva Jean Davis, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law LaVern Davis and sister-in-law Janice Schnabel.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025 at the First United Church of Christ, 130 E. Church St., Belleville, WI with Rev. Laura Kolden officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Belleville Cemetery.

A gathering of relatives and friends will precede the memorial service from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Monday, June 23, 2025 at the First United Church of Christ in Belleville.

The Becker-Beal Funeral Home of Belleville is assisting the family.

The family would like to thank the staffs of the New Glarus Home and Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. along with Pastor Laura for the care and support given to Wally.
