Vincent Walter Gehin, age 84 passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison with family by his side following a heart attack. He was born on October 23, 1937 in Belleville the son of Abel and Josephine (Kalschuer) Gehin. Vincent graduated from Belleville High School in 1956. On May 2, 1961 he was united in marriage to Jane Keichinger at St. Michael Catholic Church in Dane, WI. Vincent was a farmer and then he worked as a landscaper for the Bruce Company. Vincent needed to stay busy and would help anyone, anywhere, and at any time. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Belleville. Vincent was a dedicated Wisconsin sports fan, and also enjoyed daily walks around Belleville with his canine companion "Sis".
Vincent is survived by his wife Jane, children Theresa (Todd) Lincicum, Mary Gehin, Yvonne (Mike) Judd, Sue (Lance) Schult, and Ed (Sandy) Gehin, grandchildren Gregory (Bri), Thomas, Dennis, Melaine, Michael, Mindy, Lindsey, Travis, Clarice, Zachary, Brianna, Kody, Nick, Holly, Wyatt, and Kyle, and great-grandchildren Kenley, Trevor, and Jane. He is further survived by his sisters Geraldine Nolden, Elaine Meier, Marlene Funseth, Mary Jo (Donald) Acker, and Bernadette (Kenneth) Schnabel, brothers Harry (Judy) Gehin and Gerald (Jo Ann) Gehin, sister-in-law Shirley (Donald) Wilken, brothers-in-law Ronald (Rose) Keichinger, Robert (Nancy) Keichinger, Richard Klubertanz, and Jerome (Jane) Maly, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bernard and Edward Gehin, father-in-law and mother-in-law Harold and Clarice Keichinger, sisters-in-law Jean Maly and Kay Klubertanz, brothers-in-law Harold Nolden, Philip Meier, and Dennis Funseth, grandson Marcus Gehin, and son-in-law David Haak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022 at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 338 S. Harrison St., Belleville, WI with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be in the St. Raphael's Frenchtown Cemetery, rural Belleville.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.
