Victor Babler, age 88 passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the New Glarus Home.  He was born on October 26, 1935 the son of Lloyd and Minnie (Heller) Babler.  Vic graduated from New Glarus High School in 1953.  After graduation he worked at Pet Milk in Belleville until its closure in 1969.  He then worked for the Fitzpatrick Lumber Co. in Madison.  Following the closure of the lumber company in 1982 he began working for the New Glarus School District until he retired in June of 2000.  Victor was united in marriage to Elizabeth Brink on August 28, 1954 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ in Mt. Vernon.  From their marriage four children were born and raised in New Glarus.  Vic and Liz enjoyed trips to northern Wisconsin and attending their grandchildren's school and sports activities.

Vic is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years Liz, children Michael (Mary) Babler, Mark Babler, and Mara (Greg) Shedivy, nine grandchildren Matt Babler, Emily (David) Keating, Ryan (Luanne) Babler, Sarah Corbett, Molli Jo Babler, Ashley Babler, Margo (Ross) Laufenberg, Brett Shedivy, and Alli Shedivy, and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Minnie, son Marti Babler, mother-in-law and father-in-law Ruth and Walter Brink, brother-in-law Donald Brink, daughter-in-law Mary Aldous Babler, and great-grandson Leo Babler.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ-Mt. Vernon, 1693 State Rd. 92, Verona, WI with Mary Gafner officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, WI.

A gathering will precede the memorial service from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ-Mt. Vernon.
