Obituary

Todd W. Blum, age 61 jumped on his Harley and rode off to a new beginning on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.  He was born on August 22, 1962 in Monroe, WI the son of John W. and Elaine E. (Swenson) Blum.  Todd attended Monticello Schools and then went to work in the oil fields of Oklahoma.  After a few years he returned to Wisconsin and began working at General Motors in Janesville.  He retired from GM after 24 years of service was proud to have been part of things Made in America.  On May 10, 2019 Todd was united in marriage to Patty (Darrow) Austin.  They enjoyed many trips together exploring the country from coast to coast.  Each Spring they could be found heading to Arizona to watch Spring Training for the Chicago Cubs.  Todd was also an avid motorcyclist he enjoyed taking trips on his Harley-Davidson, especially the annual pilgrimage to Sturgis.  He was also a Green Bay Packer fan and diehard Chicago Cubs fan and was happy to have experienced their World Series win in 2016.

Todd is survived by his wife Patty, step-children Keith (Jayme) Duerst, Adam Austin, and Stacy Austin, grandchildren Kylie, Kayden, & Stella, and Addie & Maya.  He is further survived by his father John Blum, brother Mike (Sandy) Blum, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Elaine and brother Don Blum.

Per Todd's request no formal services will be held, but a Celebration of Todd's life will be held at a later date.

The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus is assisting the family.

The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and staff of St. Mary's ICU, especially Gwyneth for their tender care given to Todd.  You were all wonderful.

Jump on your Harley, my love, Go rolling from Coast to Coast, now you are free to do it all again.  In my heart forever, Our memories made together will never fade.
