Thomas James Solberg, age 72, entered his heavenly home on January 12, 2024. His final days were spent at Agrace Hospice Care, Inc. in Fitchburg surrounded by the loving care and support of family, friends and loved ones. Thom will be remembered for his positive and optimistic attitude towards life, even amidst adversity, he always remained positive and hopeful in life's challenges. He was gentle and kind, always willing to lend a helping hand and quick to express concern and gratitude. In his final days, still grateful for any act of kindness, extending a please and thank you.
Thom was born on March 8, 1951 to John and Arlene (Schaller) Solberg. He was the third of eight children and grew up in the small unincorporated town of Paoli, WI. He studied Business at University of Wisconsin – Madison and graduated with a double major in Business Administration and Finance. He was intelligent, driven and had a lifelong, strong work ethic.
Thom is preceded in death by his parents, John and Arlene Solberg and special niece, Jessica Hayes. He is survived by his daughters Amy (Aim) Davey and Tara (Bear) Wilde, who were his pride and joy; as well as grandson, Jackson Davey, and brothers and sisters; Dennis (Myra) Solberg, Michael (Lucy) Solberg, Patricia (Ron) Rieder, Richard Solberg, Terry Solberg, Cynthia (Steve) Bucierka and Donald (Pam) Solberg.
Thom had a powerful spiritual connection with his 'Fellas' (Father, Son & Holy Spirit) and leaned on them for love and assistance in his prayers and in times of need. Fiercely independent and self-sufficient, he loved Westerns, Muhammad Ali, black coffee, and his daughter's sunrise photos.
The family extends a special thank you to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. for the compassionate care for Thom in his last weeks.
Funeral services will be held private in honor of Thom's wishes.
