Thomas J. Atkins, age 71, of Monticello passed away at his home on Friday, March 27, 2015. He was born on June 13, 1943 to his parents Walter and Bernice (Seningail) Atkins. On April 11, 1964 he was united in marriage to Susan Persha. The couple later divorced. Tom worked as a Sheriff's Deputy in Kenosha County for many years and had received commendations for his bravery and service. Later he worked as a truck driver. Tom would seek out warm weather whenever he could mostly by way of Florida. He was a loving and protective grandfather who enjoyed motorsports especially drag racing. Tom is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Greg) Scott of Mayville, WI, grandchildren Jeff and Payton, a brother Richard Atkins, sister Carol Quandt, nieces, nephews, special friends Larry and Melissa, and other good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
