Terry "Butch" Winkers, age 58 passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025 at UW Hospital in Madison.  He was born on November 3, 1966 in Dodgeville, WI the son of Donald and Carol (McCullick) Winkers.  Butch graduated from Highland High School in 1985.  On August 14, 2004 he was united in marriage to Tonna Tupper in Mt. Horeb, WI.  Butch had most recently worked as a welder for Struck & Irwin Fence Company for the last several years.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors; camping and ATVing.  The most important things to Butch were his family and friends.  He loved to pop in to check on people and catch up on what's going on in their lives.

Butch is survived by his wife Tonna, daughter Teagan, siblings Kevin Winkers, Karen (Jim) Scullion, Tim (Lori Salis) Winkers, Lisa (Jim) Smelzer, and Brenda (Randy) Prestwood, and brother-in-law Kenneth Pospichal.  He is further survived by his mother-in-law Donna Carey, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Andy & Amanda Tupper, special friends Grif, Heather, & Hayes Pesch, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces/nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Pam Pospichal, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Tabitha & Larry Steffes

A gathering of relatives and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the members of the New Glarus Area EMS and New Glarus Fire Department along with the staff of UW Hospital and especially nurse Lauren for the kind and compassionate care given to Butch.
