Terry Lee Croft

Terry Lee Croft, age 69 of Belleville passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at his home. He was born on December 21, 1956 in Lancaster, WI a son of Dallas and Helen (Schleicher) Croft. Terry graduated from Fennimore High School in 1975 and continued his education at UW-Platteville graduating in 1980. He showcased his talents by scoring and arranging an original musical production of Winnie-the-Pooh at UW-Platteville. Music was Terry’s vocation and passion, following a move to Washburn, WI he performed at Big Top Chautauqua with Warren Nelson. He was also the musical director for a variety of productions at the Ashland Community Theater. On June 10, 1989 he was united in marriage to Ginger Cameron in Herbster, WI. Terry and Ginger welcomed two children while they were living in Washburn. In 1992, Terry and family moved to the Belleville area where he began performing with local bands: The Swinging Seven, Craig Mason Combo, and Second Swing Around. He was a keyboardist at the First United Church of Christ for over 20 years, playing for countless services, weddings, and funerals. In addition to his musical performance talents, he possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of music history. Terry also worked as a rural mail carrier in Stoughton and New Glarus. He enjoyed completing home improvement projects, he feared no project, and he was an accomplished cook using the skills learned while working at supper clubs in southwest Wisconsin. Terry’s homemade applesauce is cherished by his grandchildren. Terry left us all too soon and he will be loved always.

Terry is survived by his wife Ginger, son Dylan (Carla), daughter Emily, and grandchildren Cameron and Freya. He is further survived by his parents Dallas and Helen, siblings Mike (Sonjia) Croft, Sue (Chuck) Boyer, and Donita Croft, five nieces and nephews, two aunts, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and brother-in-law Paul Schumacher.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026 at First United Church of Christ, 130 East Church St., Belleville, WI with Rev. Laura Kolden officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Prairie Cemetery, Fennimore, WI.

A gathering will precede the memorial service from 12:30 p.m. until time of services on Friday, October 2, 2026 at First United Church of Christ in Belleville.

The Becker-Beal Funeral Home of Belleville is assisting the family.
