Sylvia J. Butts, age 79, of Montello passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 3, 2015 at UW-Hospital in Madison. She was born on October 12, 1935 in Madison to John and Verna (Henninger) Ray. On March 18, 1966 she was united in marriage to Dale Butts at the First United Church of Christ in Belleville. Dale and Sylvia lived in Belleville for many years and then following retirement moved to Arkansas and later returned to the Montello area. Sylvia is survived by her children Michael (Debby) Severson of Dodgeville, WI, David (Susan) Severson of Verona, WI, Sandee (Marty) Schutz of Fitchburg, WI, Chuck (Paula) Severson of New Glarus, WI, and Pam (Brenda) Christen of Evansville, WI, grandchildren April, Kristin, Aaron, Shawn, David, Danny, Keith, Jesse, Casey, Kristi, and Carla, great-grandchildren Brendan, Parker, Rebekah, Charlotte, and Victoria. She is further survived by her siblings Pat (Charlie) Dunn, Vicky Albrecht, Mary (Lynn) Ray, and Peggy Ray and sisters-in-law Cheryl Ray and Betty (Max) Hillary. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, a great-grandson Chance, brothers John and Charles, and brother-in-law Jim Albrecht. Per Sylvia's request private family services will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Aunt Vicky for her friendship and care of mom.
