Shirley Mae Ehlert, age 82 of Belleville, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at UW Hospital in Madison.  She was born on February 3, 1939 in Stratford, WI the daughter of John and Edna (Treankler) Busche.  Shirley graduated from Stratford High School in 1957 and continued her education at the Winnebago Teacher Training Program in Fond Du Lac.  On June 10, 1961 she was united in marriage to Ronald Ehlert in Thiensville, WI.  Shirley and her family moved throughout the Midwest as Ronald served as a Minister, which included stops in Clatonia, NE at Zion Lutheran Church, Our Redeemer in Madison, WI, and the Lutheran Home in River Falls, WI.  In addition to being a mother and homemaker she had worked as a teacher and for the State of Wisconsin.  Following Ronald's retirement in 2008 they moved to rural Belleville and became members of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Verona.

Shirley is survived by her husband Ronald; children Rachelle (David) Danner, James (Erica) Ehlert, and Bethany Ehlert; grandchildren Andrew (Jaime), Nathan (Paige), Samuel, Kyleah (Jake), Cortney, and Emilee; great-grandchildren Harper, Greyson, Juliette, and Finley Mae.  She is further survived by her brothers Delmar (Barbara) Busche, John (Janet) Busche, Glenn (Beverly) Busche, and Dale Busche, sister-in-law Marlene Busche, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gordon, and sister and brother-in-law Gertrude and Fred Hannemann.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 6705 Wesner Lane, Verona, WI with Pastor Nathan Strutz officiating.  Burial will be in the Belleville Cemetery.

A visitation will precede the funeral service from 12:00 noon until time of services on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Resurrection Lutheran Church.
