Sally Jo Hoesly, age 69 passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.  She was born on August 20, 1953 in Dodgeville, WI the daughter of Robert and Eloise (Marshall) Strickler.  Sally graduated from New Glarus High School in 1971 and continued her education at St. Mary's Hospital to be an X-Ray Technician.  On October 20, 1973 she was united in marriage to Gifford Hoesly at the Swiss United Church of Christ, New Glarus.  Sally worked at St. Clare Hospital in Monroe for 15 years and later for Dean Clinic for 30 years until retiring.  She was a member of the Swiss United Church of Christ.  Sally enjoyed watching Jeopardy everyday along with cooking and baking.  She was a diehard Cubs fan.  Sally loved her dogs as there were always at least two dogs at her house keeping her company. She was always in the stands cheering on her children and grandchildren in their sports and activities.

Sally is survived by her husband Gif, son Paul, daughter Heather (Daniel) Blewett, and grandchildren Anna and Aaron.  She is further survived by her sister Susan (Fred) Meyer, niece Heidi (Anthony) Greene & Marshall and her dogs Gus and Tatum.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother John.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Swiss United Church of Christ, 18 Fifth Ave. New Glarus, WI with Pastor Petra Streiff officiating.  Private family graveside services will follow at the Swiss Church Cemetery in New Glarus, WI.

A visitation will precede the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus.

The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus is assisting the family.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
