Ruth M. Zimmerman, age 96 passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the New Glarus Home. She was born on May 19, 1925 the daughter of Julius and Alice (Hefty) Eichelkraut. On February 14, 1946 she was united in marriage to Jacob Walter Zimmerman, Jr. at the Swiss Church parsonage in New Glarus. Ruth was a mother, homemaker, and farm wife. She was a member of the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus and the Postville Ladies Aid.

Ruth is survived by her daughter Betty (Dave) Owen, son Paul (Mary) Zimmerman, grandchildren Jeremy (Amy) Owen, Nicholas Owen, Renee Zimmerman, Emily Zimmerman, and Tyrone Zimmerman, great-grandchildren Keevon, Marvin, Markeese, and Lucianna Owen, Malcolm Reed, and Michael Lease.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter, brothers Herbert and Leon Eichelkraut, and great-granddaughters Catelyn and Audrey Owen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 2, 2021 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI with Pat Pluss officiating. Burial will be in the Swiss Church Cemetery.

A visitation will precede the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Monday, August 2, 2021 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home in New Glarus.
