Ruth Klassy, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at her home. She was born March 23, 1928, in Argyle, WI the daughter of Ernest and Viola Johnson. Ruth graduated from Blanchardville High School in 1946 and moved to New Glarus when she married Norman Klassy. She was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Ruth is survived by her children Kathy Brockman, New Glarus, James (Barbra) Klassy, Madison, Jill (Jeffrey) Starz, New Glarus, her grandchildren Lara (Joel) Kneifel, Madison, Jereme (Shaina) Klassy, Wautoma, Gabriel Brockman, Kate Brockman & Chloe Starz of New Glarus. Great Grandchildren Aleck Kneifel, Kuri & Henley Klassy. Her sister and brothers Joyce Alderman, New Glarus, Richard E. Johnson, Middleton, Robert Johnson, Machesney Park, IL, Kenneth Johnson, Mukwonago and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, sister Betty Krugjohann and grandson Quinn Gannon. Ruth was an avid card player who enjoyed the company and camaraderie of many card playing friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. There will be a memorial service on Monday, October 25th, 11:00 AM at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in New Glarus, 506 12th Ave., New Glarus, WI. A luncheon and time for visiting will be held after the service.
