Obituary

Roger W. White, age 81 passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at his home near Brooklyn.  He was born on August 2, 1944 in Prairie du Chien, WI the son of William and Ellen (Bauer) White.  Roger graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1962 and entered into service in the United States Navy.  Following his discharge from the Navy, Roger saw an advertisement looking for male dancers for a production of "Oklahoma!" by the Madison Theater Guild.  With that Roger left home in Prairie Du Chien for Madison to follow his passion in dancing.  Over the years Roger would perform in the "Nutcracker" ballet for over 30 years along with almost every other dance troupe in Madison along with spending two years in London, England working in a hospital and dancing in productions.  Roger would work for over 50 years at the University of Wisconsin Hospital as a surgical nursing assistant and organ transplant assistant.  In 2017 Roger was united in marriage to his longtime companion Gary Shaw.  Roger and Gary loved their pets and would take care of many rescue horses on their hobby farm.

Roger is survived by his husband Gary, siblings Jeanne (Roger) Stram, Mary Lou (Bill) Moris, and Carol (Wes) Madsen, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dennis White.

Inurnment will be at a later date in the White family plot in the Evergreen Cemetery, Prairie du Chien, WI.
