Robert M. Skogen, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Meriter Hospital in Madison.  He was born on August 15, 1953 in Madison, WI the son of Amos and Lucille (Roth) Skogen, and grew up on the family farm.  Robert began his education in a one room school house, graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1971, and then attended a police academy to earn his law enforcement officer certification.  On May 14, 1977 he was united in marriage to Donna Krantz at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pine Bluff.  Robert served as an officer for the Belleville and Mazomanie Police Departments, along with several other area villages and the Green County Sheriff's Department.  While he worked in law enforcement, Bob was also a lifelong farmer growing crops, doing custom combining and baling, and raising pigs. Bob would never pass up an opportunity to chat with anyone or share some of his many stories.  He was a member of the Mount Horeb FFA Alumni.

Robert is survived by his wife Donna, children Michelle (Mark) Rudman, Michael Skogen, and Melissa (Andrew) Knudson, and grandchildren Alex, Liza, Sammy, and Henry.  He is further survived by his two brothers, Donna's family, many extended family members, godchildren Deann Peterson, Adam Truttmann, and Bob Bilsie, as well as many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law and mother-in-law Bert & Anna May Krantz, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 6, 2024 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI with Rev. John Twiton officiating.

A gathering of relatives and friends will precede the memorial service from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Friday, December 6, 2024 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home in Belleville.

Bob chose to continue to help others through the gift of organ and tissue donation.
