Robert Vincent Owen, passed away on October 9, 2024.  He was born in Madison Wisconsin to Vincent and Arlene (Anderson) Owen September 14th, 1955. After his mother's untimely death in 1958, he was welcomed with his brother Frank into the loving home of Wilfred and Elaine Lenz of Markesan, where he graduated from high school in 1973. His much beloved grandmother, Anna Anderson of New Glarus raised 4 of his older siblings.

Bob worked at Del Monte and the sand mines outside of Markesan before relocating to New Glarus to be near family. He then worked at Menards and in construction for many years, retiring from Duluth Trading Company. He enjoyed karaoke, pool and trout fishing on the Sugar River.

In 1987, Bob and his then wife Linda Goecks adopted their only child, Tara Lyn. She survives. Bob is also survived by a granddaughter Tiara Owen and great-grandson Caspin Robert Wenger, and son-in-law Chad Caso, brother David (Betty) Owen, half-brother Dale Owen, half-sisters Janet Sample and Jeanne Smith, several nieces and nephews, foster sisters Delores Yerges and Darlene (Dick) Boosted and foster brother Joseph Lenz. He is preceded in death by his former wife, brothers Denny, Franklin, Jack and half-sister Connie.

Bob had survived cancer surgery and after a long post-operative course of complications, he succumbed to kidney failure on October 9th, 2024. He did get to come back home to live with his companion of 11 years Janet Fairchild, prior to passing away. He had enjoyed many trips throughout the Midwest with her over the last 10 years together.

Cremation has been accorded.

A gathering will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI.

A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held at a later date at the Apparitions Clubhouse.
