Robert J. Mellenberger, age 76 passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. in Fitchburg.  He was born on January 11, 1946 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison the son of Alfred and Edna (Schilt) Mellenberger.  Bob graduated from Belleville High School in 1964.  On September 29, 1973 he was united in marriage to Dorothy "Dottie" Denson at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Madison.  He was a farmer at heart and then later worked for Agri-Services and Family Freshpack in Belleville.  Bob continued the Mellenberger traditions of Tug-of-War pulling for the Washington Huskies and Monroe Truck Teams.  He was also a Packer and Badger fan along with college basketball especially during March Madness.  Bob enjoyed playing cards and traveling to watch dog racing.

Bob is survived by his wife Dottie, sister Betty (Greg) Wolff, brother-in-law Butch (Geri) Denson, nieces Melissa (Mike), Lynn (Eric), Missy (Tom), Tammy, Nancy, Marlene, and Amber (Kevin), nephews Mark, Scott, and Brandon (Katelyn).

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI with the Rev. Laura Kolden officiating.   Burial will be in the Belleville Cemetery.

A visitation will precede the funeral service from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home in Belleville.

A memorial fund has been established.
