Robert R. Freitag, age 74, of New Glarus passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the New Glarus Home. He was born on August 31, 1943 in Monroe to his parents Ralph and Helen (Trumpy) Freitag. Bob attended the Meadow Valley School and New Glarus High School. Robert enlisted in the United States Army in January, 1965, and was honorably discharged in January, 1968. After service Bob returned to the New Glarus area and worked at Federal Industries for forty years until his retirement. Bob enjoyed playing cards, cheering for the Brewers and Packers, hunting, and fishing.

Bob is survived by his brother Kenneth (Rebecca) Freitag, sister Karen Clinger, special friend Eugene Gessler, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of relatives and friends will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI. A graveside inurnment service with military honors will follow at the Swiss Cemetery in New Glarus.
