Robert E. Davis, age 96 of Verona passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025 under the care of Agrace Hospice Care Inc. at Azura Memory Care in Verona.  Bob was born on November 29, 1928 in the Town of Verona the son of Lloyd and Rose (Schmid) Davis.  He attended the Klevenville, Mount Vernon, and Andrew Henry Schools before graduating from Verona High School in 1946.  On January 12, 1952 he was united in marriage to Doris Doerfer at St. James Lutheran Church in Verona.  Bob was a lifelong farmer South of Verona.

Robert is survived by his children Alton (Ann) Davis, Katherine (Paul) Probst, Mark Davis, and Paul Davis, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.  He is further survived by his sisters Ruth Davis and Esther Sarbacker, sister-in-law Joyce Hermanson, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris, daughter-in-law Kathleen Davis, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jean & George Hanson and Richard & Beverly Doerfer, brothers-in-law Stanley Hermanson and Joseph Sarbacker, and infant brother Richard Davis.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at St. James Lutheran Church, 427 S. Main St., Verona, WI with Pastor Jerry Buss officiating.  Burial will be in the Verona Cemetery.

A visitation will precede the funeral service from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at St. James Lutheran Church in Verona, WI.

The Becker-Beal Funeral Home of Belleville is assisting the family.
