IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert "Badger
Bob" Sarbacker
July 31, 1953 – October 10, 2024
Robert (Bob) Sarbacker, 71, passed away on October 10, 2024, from a short, but courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma at Agrace Memory Care in Fitchburg, WI. Bob was born July 31, 1953, to Esther and Joe Sarbacker in Madison, Wisconsin. Bob attended Verona High School, where he lettered in football, and graduated in 1972. He then went on to graduate from Madison Area Technical College, Farm Training Program in May 1979. Bob's biggest joys were the UW Badgers and spending time on his farm. To many, Bob was known as Badger Bob. He loved attending UW Badger football and hockey games as often as possible. He loved to take friends, siblings, nieces, and nephews with him to Badger events and share his love for sports. His red and white striped overalls were a staple in his Badger wardrobe. Bob dedicated his life to farming alongside his dad and brothers. Farming is hard, manual labor, but Bob always found ways to make daily chores a bit more interesting. Whether it was water fights during hot summer days with his nieces or simply having a conversation with John. From a young age, Bob had a profound ability to recall dates, numbers, and facts. This was a gift that came in handy all the time on the farm to remember when a cow was bred, when a calf was weaned, when a cow was in heat, etc. This gift also allowed Bob to remember and recall all the important details about his siblings, nieces, and nephews and their many sports, activities, and important life events. Bob loved being outdoors, working on machinery, keeping a meticulously mowed lawn, and watching sports. He was hard-working, dedicated, passionate, and kind. Though Bob was known for his love of the Badgers and cows, his greatest love was his family. Being able to live with his mom (Esther) and being involved in the lives of his siblings, nieces, and nephews was a source of great happiness throughout his life.
Bob is survived by his mother, Esther Sarbacker, siblings Jim (Kathy), JoAnn, Bill (Heidi), Tom (Vicki), Janet (Brian), John (Shelly), Jane, Tim, David (Candi), brother-in-law Ed Francois, many nieces and nephews, uncle, Robert Davis and aunt, Ruth Davis. Bob is further survived by his lifelong friend Dr. David Duppler.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Joe Sarbacker, and his sister Julie Francois.
Bob's immediate family will gather at a private service.
