Richard L. Quam, age 86 passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. He was born on September 25, 1936 in Stoughton, WI the son of Nels and Henrietta (Lemke) Quam, Sr. In 1955 Richard entered into service in the United States Army and served in Germany. He would later work as a forklift operator at CertCo, Inc. for thirty years until retiring. On February 13, 1971 he was united in marriage to Sharen Salisbury at the First United Church of Christ in Belleville. Richard enjoyed playing euchre and trips to the casino. In his retirement he would explore the outdoors walking, biking, and bird watching. He could always be counted on to share a funny story or joke.

Richard is survived by his wife Sharen, sons Richard (Barb) Quam, and Daniel (Frances) Quam, grandchildren Elizabeth Peterson, Alexa (Matt McLaughlin) Quam, Cassie (Brady) Beyer, and Adam Quam, and great-grandson Caleb Peterson. He is further survived by sisters-in-law Linda Quam, Lawanna Quam, Karen (Gary) Anderson, brother-in-law Brian (Marie) Salisbury, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Beverly Maves and Vernaline Drogsvold, brothers Clifford, LaVerne, Willard, Charles, Nels, Jr., and Duane Quam, father-in-law and mother-in-law Kenneth and June Salisbury, and nephew Heath Aaron Salisbury.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI. Pastor Mary Gafner will officiate. Military honors will be accorded.

A visitation will precede the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home in Belleville.
