Richard G. Legler, age 94, of New Glarus passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the New Glarus Home. He was born at home on February 6, 1924 to his parents George and Marie (Stump) Legler. Richard graduated from New Glarus High School in 1941. He farmed with his family and then worked for the railroad and then Federal Industries in Belleville until retiring. Richard enjoyed fishing, bowling, shooting pool, and gardening. He was also an avid Packer and Brewer fan. Richard was a member of the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus.

Richard is survived by his twin brother Robert L. Legler, sister Ruth Legler Anderson, sister-in-law Betty Legler, nephews Harold (Joan) Legler, Ron (Amy) Legler, and Mike (Sarah) Anderson, nieces Jean (Fritz) vonHeimburg, Sue (Roy) Kempfer, Julie Anderson, Pam Anderson, and Kay Anderson. He is further survived by cousins Betty Parkin, Pat (Bill) Pomplin, and Bob Parkin, great-nieces and great-nephews Ivy, Mary, Jesse, Katie, Alaina, Elisa, Eric, Andy, Jaclyn, Tom, Britt, Tyler, Steven, Jenelle, and Nicole.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Arthur G. Legler, sisters-in-law Dorothy Jelle Legler, Mary Marty Legler, and a brother-in-law Thomas C. Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI with the Rev. Kim Moeller officiating.

Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home in New Glarus.
