Ramona J. Waefler, age 75, of rural Belleville, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2013 at Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. in Fitchburg. She was born on March 24, 1938 the daughter of Bert and Genevieve (Schaffner) Hoxie. Ramona was first united in marriage to Donald Boley. Following Donald's passing she was united in marriage to Werner Waefler at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Mt. Horeb on January 18, 1964. Ramona farmed with her husband in the Town of Primrose all her life. She enjoyed the outdoors, her garden, and loved nature. Ramona often took her family on outings to state parks just to enjoy nature. She was also an avid fan of the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers. Ramona loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a member of the Zwingli United Church of Christ in Mt. Vernon. Ramona is survived by her children; Rodney (Suanne) Boley of Mt. Horeb, WI, Jeffrey Boley of Reeseville, WI, Dennis Waefler of Mt. Horeb, WI, Diane (Lindsey) Czerwonka of Mt. Horeb, WI, Phillip (Nedeen) Waefler of Mt. Horeb, WI, and Susan (William) Sexton of Colorado Springs, CO, ten grandchildren; Melissa (Matt) Rameker, Joshua (Melissa) Boley, Shannon (Ben) Steensland, Rebecca McBride, Connor Czerwonka, Cade Czerwonka, Heather Sexton, Griffin Frisch, Garrett Waefler, and Faith Waefler, six great-grandchildren; Austen, Alexis, Jackson, Vanessa, Evelyn, and Weston. She is further survived by a brother Donald (Lori) Hoxie of Phoenix, AZ and a sister-in-law Macella Hoxie of Black Earth, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Donald and Werner, an infant daughter Shirley, and siblings; Wilbur Hoxie, Anna Roelke, Louis Hoxie, and Phillip Hoxie. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ-Mt. Vernon, 1693 State Rd. 92, Mt. Vernon, WI with Pastor Brad Brookins officiating with burial in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI. A memorial fund has been established in her memory.
