Ralph T. Elmer, age 91, of Monroe passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Pleasant View Nursing Home at Monroe. He was born on June 1, 1922 at Monroe, WI to his parents H. Otto and Esther (Hoesly) Elmer. Ralph farmed in the Town of York for many years and was a successful and respected Holstein cattle breeder with Elmer Brook Holsteins. He was also active with 4H groups in York and New Glarus, the Green County Ag Chest, Farmer's Grove Cheese Cooperative, Wilhelm Tell Guild, and the National and Wisconsin Holstein Associations. Ralph served his community as a director of the Bank of New Glarus for seventeen years and Secretary and Treasurer of the Argyle-Adams Fire Department for nine years.
