Obituary

Elsner, Patricia A. (Coughlin) (Pat) (Ma), age 72 of Verona, WI and formerly of Marshall, WI passed away surrounded by her family on March 9, 2013 at St. Mary's Care Center in Madison. I was born February 19, 1941, to my parents Marvin and Evelyn (Bohn) Coughlin. I attended grades one through eight at The Ridge School, a one-room rural school. I graduated from Marshall High School in 1959. On August 1, 1959, I was united in marriage to James Krause in Marshall. On November 22, 1974 I married Ronald Elsner of Belleville. I started working at the UW Madison News Service April 25, 1960, and retired from Secretary of the Faculty Office on January 4, 2000. I often talked about my memorable days on campus. I belonged to the Verona American Legion Auxiliary Unit 0385, and Women of the Moose Chapter 1642, Glendale, Arizona. I am survived by my husband Ron of Verona; mother & step father Evelyn (Oscar) Yaeggi of Cambridge; son, Randy (Tina) Krause of Marshall; grandchildren Rebecca, Lauren, and Jordan Krause; Jamie Krause, Raven Oxenreider and Brandi Krause; five great grandchildren and another one on the way; brother Dale (Cora Lee) Coughlin of Marshall; sisters Jean (Toby) Fillner of Sun Prairie, and Nancy (Gilbert) Fagan of Marshall. Step-children, sons John (Marcia) Elsner of Brodhead; Paul (Betsy) Elsner of New Glarus; daughters, Dawn Banovez of Kenosha; and Angela Donovan, Hazel Green. Step grandchildren, Jason (Mary) Elsner, and Zach Elsner; Mitch Elsner, Kiya Keohn, Richard, Anthony, David, Jacob, Adam, and Cassidy Donovan. 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; daughter-by-heart Kim (Bill) Steele and their sons, Ryan (Kelsey), daughter Kya and Cory of Verona. Thank you Gloria and Chuck Widish for sharing your family. Sister-by-heart, Sandi (Wayne) McNamer of Lodi, and her three children, Tanya (Sean) Sommerfeld, Erik and Brett (Angela) Ness. Two very special couples: Terry (Leah) Lynch of Marshall, and Bob (Barb) Werner of Sun City, AZ. I am also survived by a brother-in-law, William (Jupe) Elsner of Belleville; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Elsner of Black River Falls, and Betty Elsner of Stoughton; any many very good friends, including those in Sun City, AZ. I am preceded in death by my father, Marvin Coughlin, July 4 1976, and my son Ronald J. Krause, May 30, 2006, niece Marsha Sue Coughlin; maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts and uncles; sister-in-law, Sylvia Pishion; brothers-in-law, Maynard, Emmett, and Robert Elsner; step grandchildren Destiny Wirth and John Thomas (J.T.) Elsner; nephews James Pishion, Charles Elsner, and niece Jenny Elsner. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI with the Rev. David Timmerman officiating. The burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Cottage Grove, WI at a later date. Relatives and friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home in Belleville. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the kind caregivers at St. Mary's Care Center, and Agrace HospiceCare. A very special thank you to Linda & Dan Hoffman for all their kindness and compassion shown to Pat during her illness.
