Palmer J. Gehin, age 96 passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026 at his home. He was born on March 12, 1930 in Monroe, WI the son of Daniel and Minnie (Ott) Gehin. Palmer would graduate from Belleville High School in 1948, and he then began working at Pet Milk. He would enter into the United States Army in 1951 and following his discharge he was united in marriage to Dolores Hefty on September 12, 1953 at the St. Mary of Lourdes Parsonage in Belleville. Palmer returned to working at Pet Milk along with farming and raising mink. Later he would work as a custodian for the Belleville School District. Palmer enjoyed the outdoors fishing and hunting, especially the trips “Up North” near Minocqua in the days before 51 bypassed the towns on the route.
Palmer is survived by his children Debra Gehin and Randy (Connie) Gehin, grandsons Tim (Elizabeth) Gehin and Tom (Chandal) Gehin, and great-grandchildren Ethan, Elsie, Kaiya, and Luna. He is further survived by sisters-in-law Mary Hefty and Sharon (Neal) Keyser.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Dolores.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home with Fr. Garrett Kau officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Raphael’s Frenchtown Cemetery, rural Belleville.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.
