Odella "Dell" Suzanne Burnard, age 92 passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at the New Glarus Home.  She was born on August 9, 1930 in La Crosse, WI the daughter of Peter and Tillie (Thompson) Solverson.  Odella graduated from Viroqua High School in 1947.  In 1951 she was united in marriage to James Burnard at the Viroqua Lutheran Church.  In 1962 they moved to New Glarus where they raised their family.

In New Glarus, Odella "Dell" worked as a Bookkeeper for Strickler's Market.  Later she worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in Madison until retiring.

Odella was a member of the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus and served a term as a Deacon. Post retirement, she volunteered to greet guests visiting the Swiss Historical Village and Museum. She enjoyed music, playing the piano and playing cards.

Odella is survived by her sons Eric (Kay) Quinney-Burnard and Jonathan (Ann Jindasri) Burnard, grandchildren Cavin Burnard, Amber (Chris) Prellwitz, and Amanda Prellwitz, and great-grandson Jeremy Prellwitz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim, daughter Candace, and a brother Peter "Bud" Solverson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI.  Inurnment will be in the Swiss Church Cemetery, New Glarus, WI.

A gathering will precede the memorial service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home in New Glarus.
