Marti J. Babler, age 59 passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 11, 1961 in Monroe, WI the son of Vic and Liz (Brink) Babler. Marti graduated from New Glarus High School in 1979. He had worked as a journeyman electrician and then for the New Glarus School District and later Meriter Hospital. Marti enjoyed spending time afield hunting and fishing, and he always enjoyed debates with those around him.

Marti is survived by his daughters Ashley and Molli Jo Babler, parents Vic and Liz Babler, siblings Mike (Mary) Babler, Mark (Mary) Babler, and Mara (Greg) Shedivy, nieces, nephews, and his great-nieces and great-nephews who knew him as "Uncle Smarty".

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Walter and Ruth Brink, grandfather Lloyd Babler, and uncle Don Brink.

A private family celebration of Marti's life will be held at a later date.

The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus is assisting the family.
