After a long courageous battle with Parkinson's disease and Dementia, Lucile passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at her residence of three years, The New Glarus Home. Lucile was born January 21, 1926 to Fredrick "Fritz" and Wilamena "Minnie" (Marking) Hilgendorf. The first of seven children, she spent her childhood in Cross Plains and graduated from Black Earth High School in 1944. During World War II Lucile worked at the Badger Ammunitions Powder Plant helping with the war effort while her first husband Bernard Gilding served in the South Pacific. After his return they lived in many locations while raising their four children, ending up in Burlington, WI where they operated in partnership the Burlington Airport. She departed from Burlington beginning a new chapter in her life, marrying Wilfrid "Fritz" Trittin in 1975 and moved to McFarland, WI working at the UW-Hospital in Madison in the Food Service Department. After retirement they moved to Pueblo West, CO, enjoying their new life there and gathering new friends and enjoying many memorable visits from family and friends to beautiful Colorado. She found great gratification in her faith and her church Ecumenical Church of Pueblo West. She involved herself fully in the ministry of creating Angel pins for the benefit of charities. Many friends and family members received her labors of love. Her unique creation was the special angel pin called the "Tiny Miss". Lucile was also an avid Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies fan. No game went unwatched. A devoted Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, she is survived by her four children Ardyth (Alf) Wyller of Sherwood, OR; James (Eileen) Gilding of Charleston, SC; Thomas (Mary) Gilding of Burlington, WI; and Nadine (Jay) Teisberg of New Glarus, WI; Her four step-children Toni (David) Prisk, Peg (Roger) Walls, Debra Trittin, and Michelle Trittin. The nine special joys of her life her Grandchildren; Nichol (Seth) Novoselsky, Edward (Brenda) Wyller, Heather Gilding, Lindsey (Bryan) Campion, Todd (Elizabeth) Gilding, Wendy (Mike) Mudd, Jenelle (Justin) Jenninges, Justin (Kerri) Teisberg, and Chelsea Teisberg. Ten Great-Grandchildren, Step Grandchildren and Step-Great-Grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings Edward Hilgendorf, Irene Schwenn, Dorothy Miller, and Lavonne Shipley. Bernard Gilding (father of her children), and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, Husband Wilfrid "Fritz" Trittin, infant sister Darleen, Sister Anna Mae Schwenn, and sister, and brothers-in-law. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2012 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church, 2427 Church St., Cross Plains, WI with Pastor Nicole Espe of Primrose Lutheran Church officiating, of where Lucile was a member. Burial will follow in the Valley Home Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 6th Ave., New Glarus, WI, and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday at St. Martin's Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Monroe Clinic Hospice, New Glarus Home Activities Department, Primrose Lutheran Church, or the Michael J. Fox Parkinson Foundation.
