Louise L. Whitford, age 91 passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.  She was born on August 22, 1932 a daughter of Obert and Lenore (Thompson) Runden.  Louise graduated from Hollandale High School in 1950.  On January 10, 1953 she was united in marriage to Arthur Whitford at the Hollandale Lutheran Church.  Louise had first worked as a switchboard operator at the telephone exchange in Blanchardville and later served as the Assistant Postmaster and Postmaster in Hollandale.  She enjoyed collecting souvenir plates and dolls.  Most of all Louise cherished her grandchildren and the time spent with them.

Louise is survived by her husband Art, sons David (Cindy) and Steven, grandchildren Scott, Heather (Jason) Price, Molly (Shawn Monson), and Hannah (Dave) Cleary, great-grandchildren Preston, Landon, Hunter, Isaac, and Josie.  She is further survived by her brother Richard (Sharon) Runden, Sr., brother-in-law Arne Finhert, Denise Theobald-Denman, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Raymond Runden, and sister Eleanor Finhert on December 15, 2023.

A joint Celebration of Life for Louise and Eleanor will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the Hollandale Village Office, 200 5th Ave., Hollandale, WI.
