Lorna Jean Boley, age 74, of Janesville a former New Glarus area resident passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. She was born on October 27, 1936 to her parents Jacob and Rosa (Zentner) Trumpy in Adams Township. On May 26, 1954 she was united in marriage to Merlin Boley. Lorna worked for many years at Carnes and the Four Winds Manor in Verona, and at Roy's Market in New Glarus. She was a member of the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus, the Amstutz-Marty American Legion Auxiliary, and was a past president of the Green County American Legion Auxiliary. Lorna was an avid fan of the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Lorna is survived by her husband Merlin of Janesville, WI, six children Susan (Gary) Miller of Argyle, WI, Janice (James) Gnadt of Fairport, NY, Marcia (Robert) Hartwig of Janesville, WI, Laurie Hagerman of Sheridan, WY, Dawn (William) Gerber of Monroe, WI, and Alan ( Sally Swenson) Boley of Janesville, WI, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one step-grandchild. She is further survived by a brother Floyd Trumpy, sisters Helen Freitag, Marian Karlen, Rosemarie Krupke, a brother-in-law Gary (Sharon) Boley, sisters-in-law JoAnn (Richard) Voegeli, Delores Steiner, Carolyn Smail, Diane (Darris) Bidlingmaier, Debbie (James) Grossen, Rita (Robert) Klassy, and Linda (Keith) Disch. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Norman, LeRoy, Ray, Richard, and Glen, sisters Florence Grossen and Bertha Trumpy, brothers-in-law Donald Boley, Bruce Boley, and Rodger Boley. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Swiss United Church of Christ, 18 5th Avenue, New Glarus, WI with the Rev. Todd Hackman officiating with inurnment in the Swiss Church Cemetery.
