Lois E. Walters, age 86, of Belleville passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Hospice Care, Inc. at Fitchburg, WI. She was born January 21, 1925, the daughter of Glenn and Leona (Ethridge) Sweeney at Argyle, WI. Lois was united in marriage to Basil "Bud" Walters on July 28, 1943 at Monroe, WI. She worked as a nurse's aid at St. Clare Hospital in Monroe and at the Freeport Hospital. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Belleville. Lois liked to paint ceramics, crochet, solve crossword puzzles, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an important part of every family get together and never missed a wedding, graduation, or school program involving her grandchildren. Lois became an avid Bucky Badger fan and attended all UW Varsity Band Spring Concerts with her son, daughter, and grandchildren over the last ten years. Her loving ways and sense of humor easily made her the center of the family. She always had time and an open ear for each and every family member. She leaves her family with a deep sense of loss. Lois is survived by her children Sandy (Glen) Schnulle of Leesburg, Fl, David Walters of Belleville, WI, Larry (Sharon) Walters of Barneveld, WI, and Barbara Weber of Belleville, WI. She is further survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, brothers Robert (Lela) Sweeney of Sparta, WI and Russell Sweeney of Warren, IL, sisters Doris Fox of Brodhead, WI and Joyce (Jack) Young of Wiota, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, and a sister. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18th, 2011 at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 338 S. Harrison St., Belleville, WI with the Rev. Michael Moon officiating with burial in the St. James Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, June 18th, 2011 at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Belleville.
