Lawrence Kosmeder, age 96 of Belleville passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Four Winds Manor, Verona, WI. Lawrence was born on April 26, 1929, a son of Paul and Frances (Podlaszewski) Kosmeder. After attending Milwaukee Technical School, Lawrence entered and proudly served in the US Marine Corps 1945 - 1951. On September 22, 1950, Lawrence married Marilyn A. (Cockroft) Kosmeder. Lawrence was a private pilot, flying Cessna 172s and 192s, which he enjoyed, along with riding his bike to the Brewer games as a young boy, working on his favorite car (Studebakers), TV repairs, tending his lawn, and snow blowing in the winter. He was a faithful, long-time member of Memorial Baptist Church in Verona, WI, serving in many capacities. Lawrence was also a member of Belleville EMS as a driver for thirteen years.
Lawrence is survived by his children, Lawrence (Jayne) Kosmeder, Maryann (Don) St. John, Barbara (Darrell) Storkson, and Jane (Thomas) Vaughan, fourteen grandchildren, Rebecca (Joe) Gruenhagen, Amy (Tony) Storkson, Wendy (Jeffrey) Frydenlund, Kimber Blum, Sarah (Troy) Norpel, Heidi (Jeffery) Walter, Annie Popkes, Heather (Michael) Vandermeulen, Paul (Jennifer) Vaughan, Rachel Syftestad, Rebecca (Michael) Mauch, Robert (Emily) Kosmeder, William (Jensena) Kosmeder, Maria (Shawn) Sonnack, and twenty-seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild. He is further survived by a sister-in-law Donna Cockroft, nephews, and nieces.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marilyn, his brothers, John, Jerome, Paul, Robert, and his sister, Evelyn. Along with many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews, and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Memorial Baptist Church, 201 S. Main St. Verona, WI, with Pastor Jeremy Scott officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Belleville Cemetery.
A visitation will precede the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Memorial Baptist Church, 201 S. Main St., Verona, WI.
The Becker-Beal Funeral Home of Belleville is assisting the family.
A memorial fund has been established.
