LaVerne E. Dohm, age 94 passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at his home with family at his side. He was born on July 12, 1930 the son of Ferdinand and Leonora (Walch) Dohm. LaVerne graduated from Sacred Heart School in Sun Prairie and he would then serve in the U.S. Army as a tank driver. On September 2, 1957 he was united in marriage to Arlene Ott at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in East Bristol, WI. They lived in Sun Prairie and Monona until they purchased the farm outside Belleville in 1965. LaVerne worked in construction for his brother Gerard and later at Hoesly Lumber in Belleville in addition to farming. He enjoyed playing Euchre, fishing, and pitching horseshoes. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Belleville.
LaVerne is survived by his children Mark (Kristi) Dohm, Cathy (Kevin) Johnson, and Mary (Neal) Weber, grandchildren Mitch (Melissa) Dohm, Jacci (Matt Bohne) Dohm, Marie (Donald "Corky" ) Sparby, John (Alisa) Dohm, Christopher Dohm, Michelangelo Dohm, Keegan Dohm, Nick (Jerilyn) Johnson, Garrett (Ashley) Johnson, Mallorie Weber, Tonia (Paul) Bird, Lisa (Jose) Hernandez, and Mathew Weber, great-grandchildren Reagan, Mikaela, Miyah, Skye, Gavin, Gage, Landon, Ashton, Jaime, Alora, Gwenevere, Kimberly, Maximus, and Marek. He is further survived by his sisters Juanita (Donald) Hoepker and Rita Pulgin, brother-in-law Gerald Ring, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Arlene, brother Gerard (Char) Dohm, sisters Armella Ring, Mary Gertrude Dohm, Joann (Donald Mandt, David) Reichling, brothers-in-law Jack Pulgin, Wilmer "Buddy" (Virginia) Ott, Harold Ott, and Leon (Barbara) Ott, sisters-in-law Caroline Noel and Margaret Dohm, father-in-law and mother-in-law Leo & Louise Ott.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 338 South Harrison St., Belleville, WI with Fr. Jospeh Bellamkonda officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the St. James Cemetery, rural Belleville, WI.
Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Friday, November 22, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Belleville.
