Kristine J. Sherven, age 73, of rural Belleville, WI, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 29, 2026.  She was born on April 22, 1952, daughter of Edwin and Norma (Johnson) Maurer.  Kris graduated from New Glarus High School in 1970.  After high school, she worked at Swiss Colony as a computer operator for fifteen years.  On June 1, 1974, Kris was united in marriage to Steven L. Sherven.  Together they built their home where they resided for 50 years.  In 1986, Kris joined her husband Steve as co-owner of Sher-Feeds and Management Service at the Mount Vernon Mill.  Kris enjoyed talking with the local farmers as they purchased feed and sought advice for their farming operations and pet needs.  She had many fond memories of their employees and customers, especially of cooking for the many dairy twilight meetings.  In 1995, she helped build the pet supply store in Monroe.  In 1999, she expanded to Stoughton and established Claws 2 Paws. Kris would own and operate Claws 2 Paws for twenty-five years, providing knowledgeable guidance and advice on caring for pets.  She loved animals and was very proud to help with the kitten adoptive program in Stoughton.  Kris also loved music and going to dances.  She will be remembered as a great cook, not only for her family, but for various personal and business events.  She was a voracious reader and also loved gardening, quilting, and traveling.

Kris is survived by her husband, Steve, and children, Jennifer (Andrew Vinella) Sherven, Jeff (Becky) Sherven, and Brian Sherven.  She was a proud grandmother to Hannah, Alex, and Emma Vinella, and Levi and Miles Sherven.  Kris is further survived by her brother Roger (Joan) Maurer, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Verdean & Mary Sherven, Jerome & Sylvia Sherven, and Janet Sherven, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Keith, brother Eugene, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Rodger & Audrey Stampfli, Joyce Sherven, Larry & Joann Sherven, and Duane Sherven, and nephew Scott Maurer.

A gathering will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026, at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.  A time of remembrance will conclude the gathering at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
