Karen A. Frey, age 67 passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021 at UW Hospital in Madison, WI. She was born on November 7, 1953 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison the daughter of Richard and Donna Jean (Stuelke) Schmelzer. Karen worked as a laboratory technician for Ray-O-Vac for over thirty years. She enjoyed birdwatching, collecting frogs, building puzzles, word searches, reading, and listening to live music. The holidays were special to Karen she loved preparing for Christmas and making Halloween costumes for her family. Most of all she enjoyed the times spent with family and the movie nights shared with her grandchildren.

Karen is survived by her other half Dean Scoville, sons Jason (Stacy) Frey and Jeffrey Frey, daughter Kristi (Cassie Wunderlin) Scoville, grandchildren Samantha, Cameron, Adelynn, and Austin, and grand-dog Cubby. She is further survived by her brother Dave Schmelzer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Andrew Scoville, granddaughters Kayla and Abigail Frey, and a brother Rick Schmelzer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI with Pastor Phil Ace officiating. Burial will be in the Belleville Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home in Belleville.
