June Ivonne Strahm, age 79 passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026. She was born at home in New Glarus, WI in March 26, 1947 a daughter of Ivan and June (Armitage) Zweifel. June graduated from New Glarus High School in 1965 and she was united in marriage to Ronald Strahm on September 9, 1966 at the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus. The union resulted in the birth of their daughter Wendy. As a family they enjoyed numerous camping trips, and they were actively involved in showing horses with their daughter. June worked for the State of Wisconsin until retiring in 2002, She also worked for many years at the New Glarus Bakery, Culvers, and Caseys. June was a member of the Swiss United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School. She also volunteered as a 4H leader and Girl Scouts Troop Leader. June enjoyed music; she played piano and loved to hear Ronnie sing and play guitar. She loved her family and was very proud to help raise her grandchildren.
June is survived by her daughter Wendy (Mike) Strahm, grandchildren Xander, Evonne (Tyrone Flowers), Alexys, Ja’Kodey, D’Angelo, Ali’Zae, and Money Strahm, and great-grandchildren Maliyah, Jazyiah, and Tyaire. She is further survived by a sister Jill Duerst, sister-in-law Doris Streiff, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald, father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert & Adeline Strahm, brothers-in-law Robert and Ernie Strahm, Dean Streiff, and Gene Duerst.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at the Swiss United Church of Christ, 18 Fifth Ave., New Glarus, WI with Pat Pluss officiating. Burial will follow in the New Glarus Cemetery.
A visitation will precede the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, August 29, 2026.
The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus is assisting the family.
