Celebration of Life
John "Jack" Fischl, age 79 a former Belleville resident passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at SSM St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. He was born January 31, 1947 the son of Norman and Florence (Streiff) Fischl. Jack graduated from Belleville High School in 1965. He would then serve in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969. During his time in the Army, he married Bonnie Alme and they had a son Jason. Jack and Bonnie later divorced. Jack worked at Federal Industries in Belleville for forty-seven years until retiring. He enjoyed the annual fishing trips to Canada and spending time "Up North" fishing with his grandsons. Jack loved his hometown of Belleville and always wanted to find out the goings on about town.
Jack is survived by his son Jason (Wendy Benkert) Fischl, grandsons Riley and Garret, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters & brothers-in-law Nancy & Pat Donlin and Peggy & Butch Eichelkraut, and a nephew Robert Eichelkraut.
A celebration of Jack's life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at J & M Bar, 127 W. Main St., Belleville, WI.
Inurnment with military honors will be at a later date in the Belleville Cemetery.
The Becker-Beal Funeral Home of Belleville is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Duppler-Smith American Legion Post #460 in Belleville.
