IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Laverne
Lamberty
January 14, 1946 – January 25, 2025
John LaVerne Lamberty, age 79 passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at his home. He was born on January 14, 1946 in Madison the son of LaVerne and Margaret (Acker) Lamberty. John grew up farming with his family and then served in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 to 1967 with one tour of duty in Vietnam. John married Patricia Ziegler and they had three children together and later divorced. Following his discharge from the Marine Corps he returned to the home farm and began working for Finks Paving and later worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Dane County Highway Department retiring in 2008. One of John's favorite hobbies was racing stock cars with his family at local area tracks. Family and friends will always remember John as an honest man (sometimes painfully honest) who would tell you like it was as he saw it. He rarely swayed in his thoughts about most any subject. John may have been tough on the exterior but he loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He would often be seen in his signature bib overalls for most all occasions.
John is survived by his children Tammy (Ted) Turnquist, Rick Lamberty, and Clayton (Crystal Morrison) Lamberty, longtime companion Marcia Hur, grandson Travis (Kristin) Turnquist, and great-grandchildren Avery and Trace. He is further survived by his sister Ruth Babler and nephew Chris (Marsha) Babler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Joyce, granddaughter Morgan Turnquist, brother-in-law Jim Babler, and nephew Mike Babler.
