Jean Marie Burns, age 90, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. in Fitchburg.  She was born on October 25, 1933 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison the daughter of Arthur and Lila (Reddeman) Mack, Sr.  Jean grew up in Lodi, WI and graduated from Lodi High School.  On January 15, 1955 she was united in marriage to Peter Burns at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lodi.  Jean had worked at Ray-O-Vac in Madison and later for the State of Wisconsin.  But first and foremost, she was a mother and homemaker.  Her family referred to Jean as a professional babysitter, she loved and cherished watching and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Jean and Pete have many fond memories of the 26 years they spent at their camper at Indian Trails.  She was a member of Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church in Oregon.

Jean is survived by her husband Peter, children Dan (Michele) Burns, Deb (Mark) Miedaner, Anne (Tom) Haglund, and Terri (Ed) Hagstrom, grandchildren Jason (Denise), Melissa (Peter), Kim (Darin), Luke (Kelsey), Kari (Neal), Leah (Brandon), Sean (Abigail), Michelle (Michael), Charity (Jordan), and Haley, and nineteen great-grandchildren.  She is further survived by her sister Wanda (Rolland) DeGroff, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Dave, grandson Stephen Miedaner, brothers Arthur Jr., Don (Shirley), and sisters Donna Showers and Jo-Ann Pulkinghorn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, WI

A visitation will precede the funeral mass from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church in Oregon.
