Janet L. Christen, age 72, of Belleville, WI passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Select Hospital in Madison. She was born on November 2, 1940 in Madison to her parents Bertrum and Martha (Olson) Bryant. Janet attended Silver Springs Grade School and graduated from Wisconsin High School in 1958. On June 22, 1962 she was united in marriage to Palmer Christen at Madison, WI. Janet farmed with her husband and worked as a medical coding specialist at UW-Health. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. Janet also served as a Brownie leader. Janet is survived by her husband Palmer of Belleville, a son Kent (Jenelle) Christen of Suamico, WI, a daughter Beth (Mark) Schneider of Racine, WI, grandchildren Lacey Servaes, Landen Christen, and Colin, Alec, and Drew Schneider. She is further survived by a brother Kenneth (Verge) Bryant, sisters Lucille (Robert) Lansing, Phyllis Ulrich, Mary Wampfler, and Roberta (Larry) Midthun. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Virginia Peterson, and an infant son. Private family funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI with the Rev. Sara Thiessen officiating with burial in the Swiss Church Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
