Janet Virginia Babler, age 83, of Belleville passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Heartsong Assisted Living in Belleville, WI. She was born on June 1, 1932 in Madison, WI to her parents Norman and Janet (Baldwin) Buss. Janet graduated from Belleville High School in 1950. On August 10, 1950 she was united in marriage to Kenneth "Smokey" Babler at the First United Church of Christ in Belleville. Janet was a homemaker and mother raising her seven children and filling in when needed at the gas station, and doing in home daycare. Later in life she worked at Hometown Hardware in Belleville and at Miller and Son's in Verona. She enjoyed playing cards and nickels.

Janet is survived by her children Jim (Ruth) Babler, Sue (Ron) Yaun, Bill (Susan) Babler, Cindy (Mike) Barker, Tim Babler, Brad Babler, and Jody (Steve) McClain, 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters Carole Buss, Mary Caravello, and Harriet (Kenneth) Blum, and sister-in-law LouAnn Buss.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Smokey, grandson Michael Babler, and brother Dick.

A gathering of relatives and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.
