SGT. Jamie Charles Barreau, age 43 passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at his home in Sierra Vista, AZ.  He was born on August 8, 1981 in Madison, WI the son of Darrell Barreau and Janet Reine.  Jamie graduated from New Glarus High School in 2000.  He had entered into the United States Army and completed his basic training over the summer prior to his senior year.  After graduation he returned to the Army and his service included being stationed in Germany and the Middle East as part of the 416th Transportation Company.  Following his discharge in 2012 Jamie returned to the New Glarus area until he moved to Arizona in the fall of 2023.  He enjoyed reading sci-fi, fantasy, and comics, and was an aspiring writer in the genre.  Jamie also enjoyed playing video games and watching 80's action and sci-fi movies and tv shows with his family.

Jamie is survived by his mother Janet Fuchs, children Gabriel Barreau, Jaydin Foesch, Pamela Foesch, and Alyssa Leck.  He is further survived by his siblings Donna Zimmerman, Dana Wahl, Clayton Fuchs, and Chloe Fuchs.

He was preceded in death by his father Darrell Barreau, brother Jon Barreau, and infant son Xavier.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave, New Glarus, WI with Pastor Erich Hartenberger officiating.  Inurnment with military honors will follow at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI.
