Jack E. Heller, age 82, of New Glarus passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at his home. He was born on January 7, 1933 on the family farm outside New Glarus to his parents Fred E. and Pearl (Hoesly) Heller. Jack graduated from New Glarus High School in 1951. He then served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War with the 744th troop carrier squadron. After returning from the service Jack worked for Dairy Equipment and Federal Industries until working for many years as an electrician for Disch Hardware and then Foster's and Kempfer's. On May 4, 1963 he was united in marriage to Carol Bower at the Swiss Church Parsonage in New Glarus. Jack was a member of the Stuessy-Kuenzi American Legion Post #141. He enjoyed fishing and hunting along with his daily coffee clutch and a bit of gambling. Jack also enjoyed the EAA Fly In at Oshkosh. Jack is survived by his wife Carol of New Glarus, WI, children Mike (Denise) Heller of Belleville, WI, Mitch (Stacy) Heller of Belleville, WI, and Melinda (Scott) Blumer of Monroe, WI, grandchildren Matt, Molly, Cassidy, and Carson. He is further survived by a brother Paul (Lois) Heller of New Glarus, WI and a sister Dorothy (Robert) Abendroth of Ames, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ronald, and a grandson Derek. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Avenue, New Glarus, WI with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Relatives and friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until time of services on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home in New Glarus.
