Howard John Jeglum, age 84, of New Glarus passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 17, 1928 in the Town of York, rural Blanchardville, WI to his parents Benhard and Helga (Anderson) Jeglum. Howard was united in marriage to the former Alice Ischi at Darlington, WI. He farmed for many years and also worked as a painter and carpenter. Howard was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in New Glarus and the Stuessy-Kuenzi American Legion Post in New Glarus. Howard is survived by his wife Alice of New Glarus, four children Dale Jeglum, Larry Jeglum, Susan Jeglum, and Bradley Jeglum, two grandchildren Theron and Trevor Theobald. He is further survived by his sisters Bea Pope and Lois (Erv) Evenson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Gene, Enos, Curtis, and Jim, and sisters Ethel Logesson, Grace Iverson, and Avis Oppliger. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 506 12th Ave., New Glarus, WI with the Rev. Gene Talley officiating.
