Herman Leon Walker, age 75 of Monticello, WI died on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the New Glarus Home.  He was born on May 16, 1948 in Cullman, AL the son of Arvil and Goldie (Reese) Walker.  Herman's family moved to Indiana where he graduated from high school and then entered into the United States Army, serving in Vietnam.  Following his discharge Herman worked as a ride operator and met Lynette Stadt at the Rock County Fair.  They would marry on November 12, 1977 in Edgerton, WI.  Herman would go on to work as a truck driver for many years.  He enjoyed fishing with friends and family.  Herman had volunteered with Fishing Has No Boundaries to share his knowledge and passion for fishing with others.

Herman is survived by his sons Paul (Jennifer Heberling) Walker and Robert Walker, grandchildren Katrina, Lukas, Liberty, Brantley, and one on the way, great-grandson Roman, and canine companion Maggie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Lynette.

A gathering of relatives and friends will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI.

A time of remembrance led by Rev. Kelly Volk will conclude the gathering at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral in New Glarus.  Military honors will be accorded.
